Two girls and four boys explored the world of work at ICE and experienced different roles within the company. In particular, they were able to simulate not only a customer but also the financial side of a specific project. In their roles as members of the ICE project team, they interacted with three sites - the bank, the suppliers and the customer.
Vašek, who will soon be 13 years old and attends Bishop's Grammar School in Žďár, was one of the 6 participants of the ICE Junior Xperience. He evaluated his participation very positively.
How do you feel about ICE Junior Xperience?
It seems to me that all the adults here are honest with us. I learn a lot, but in a way that is acceptable to me.
How did you hear about the event?
My mom is on social media, so she found out about it from here.
What did you learn?
A lot of professional stuff that is used in ICE. But also the attitude and the way things work in a modern company. At the ŽĎAS apprenticeship we programmed simpler things to get to grips with it, like switches.
I heard you were on a trip, where was it?
We went to Strojmetal in Kamenice u Prahy, a factory that makes parts for car chassis. We looked at the production and saw the presses and machines in action.
You've also been playing a game since Monday, what was it, a fighting game?
Actually a fighting game, yes. We had money and we bought things to fulfill the customer's order. The whole team worked together, someone programmed, two people designed and another communicated with the customer, I handled the finances. It took us a while to get used to it, the communication wasn't good at first. Then we got the hang of it and learned it.
Did you have a chance to stretch yourselves a bit?
Yes, we had the opportunity to play ping-pong and basketball here at ICE headquarters. We also played table football and there was another game where we ran around the company with a plan and papers and did different tasks, it was a bit like Fortress Boyard.
What was waiting for you on the last day?
We were given the opportunity to choose an activity from what we collectively enjoyed the most. So it looks like we're going to choose finance and programming.
Anything you want to add, any thoughts?
I'm so glad they're letting us do this. Like pro modeling programs, robot rides. I'm really glad I got to try it all out.
